Arriba, Maricón is a music video I directed, produced, wrote, edited and post-produced for Kika Lorace. Released in June 2016, it’s a version of J Balvin’s Ginza with new lyrics by Álex Gilabert — a song about gyms, diets, abs, and the very specific kind of pressure that comes with summer in Madrid. Sharp, funny, and wrapped in a nineties aesthetic that lands exactly right. It came out the same year Kika performed it at Barcelona Pride, which tells you everything about how quickly it took off.
